Hello. It’s Lau and I have social anxiety. It’s something I don’t tell a lot of people, it’s my daily struggle and I don’t necessarily feel comfortable just blurting it out.
Why Are You Making This Post Now?
From the first post I said as time goes by you all will get to know me more, this is just the beginning.
It took me a long time to figure out why I get so anxious and so all over the place in social situations. I had a councillor who tried to figure it out too, asking questions that for some I just didn’t know the answers to.
It’s something I deal with on a daily basis, there have been many times that I have seen that a place is crowded and I refused to go in until everyone was gone. With meeting new people that is my idea of hell, I will have a panic attack the night before and then cancel.
I’ve just accepted it’s part of my life and stopped trying to fight it, I have learnt a few tricks that help.
2. Ball your fist
These help me, I don’t go anywhere without my earphones.
This is me opening up a bit more, I haven’t told the full story but it’s a start.
