It’s Lau. And welcome to Blogmas Day three. I love decorating for Christmas, I love decorating in general but especially at Christmas time.
The joy that you get by just listening to Christmas songs whilst decorating is so unimaginable, today’s post I want to go through the process of decorating for Christmas.
Decorating For Christmas
It always starts by someone saying “Could you get the Christmas stuff out of the attic?” There will always be a resounding “No, it’s too early”.
It’s December, I’m pretty sure it’s not too early for Christmas decorations. As you start to unload the decorations, you feel a sense of last Christmas. Memories flood back and de ja vu sinks in.
As you start to unpack everything, you see your siblings jumping around out of excitement, you smile and try to keep your cool because you absolutely want to do the same.
Whilst Christmas music is playing, the children are running around..you feel a sense of peace (which was later disturbed by them running around) but you feel all Christmasy and just more at home then you have ever felt.
The Christmas tree is being assembled and other decorations are being put up, of course you’re in charge of handing the pins because they don’t trust you with anything else.
Any normal person would have passed it onto another sibling because that job is boring but not me, I want to stand there and waste my time but then I’d eventually tell my sister to do it.
As the hours go by, it’s finally time to start decorating the tree. Now this is where it all can go wrong or go really right. It’s a team effort to decorate the tree, but if you’re anything like my family then we can’t make a group decision and someone goes off crying.
After a few tantrums later, we are finally done. Just need to add the stockings and finally… it’s Christmas.
